Itsukushima (厳島) is popularly also known as Miyajima (宮島), which means Islands of Gods in Hiroshima bay………. Itsukushima shrine was built in the time of Empress Suiko a long time ago which is a part of the city of Hatshukaichi, Hiroshima. ……. The warrior: Taira gave the shrine its present form……..later, after the battle of miyajima……Toyotomi hideyoshi built the shine……Itsukushima itself has many temples, including Toyokuni shrines, Daiganji temples……. and, benzaiten temples………..The island of Itsukushima is affected by high tide, the sea level can cover the areas underneath the shrine. At low tide, one can see island’s torii gate clearly…………
